Shipping & Returns
MySportsLockers.ca
This policy explains the responsibilities of buyers and sellers for packaging, shipping, delivery, returns, refunds, damaged items, missing packages, and transaction disputes.
Original Effective Date: June 27, 2026 | Version: 1.0Shipping and Return Standards
These rules apply to transactions completed through MySportsLockers.ca and work together with the Terms of Use, Marketplace Rules, Fee Schedule, Privacy Policy, and any seller-specific listing terms.
- Confirm the item remains available and matches the listing.
- Ship only to the approved delivery address attached to the transaction.
- Use suitable packaging for the item type, condition, and value.
- Ship within the handling time shown in the listing or current Shipping Policy.
- Provide tracking where required.
- Retain shipment receipts, tracking details, package photographs, and related records until the dispute period ends.
- Provide a complete, accurate, and secure delivery address.
- Review the address before completing payment.
- Arrange for someone to receive high-value or signature-required packages when needed.
- Monitor tracking and collect held packages promptly.
- Notify the seller and MSL promptly if tracking shows an issue or the parcel appears damaged.
Sellers should ship within the handling period displayed in the listing. If no handling period is shown, the seller should generally ship within a reasonable business period after confirmed payment.
- Weekends and statutory holidays may affect dispatch timing.
- If a delay occurs, the seller must inform the buyer promptly.
- Repeated unexplained delays may lead to listing restrictions or account review.
Cards and Flat Collectibles
- Use sleeves, top loaders, semi-rigid holders, team bags, cardboard support, or equivalent protection.
- Prevent movement, bending, moisture exposure, and surface damage.
Jerseys and Apparel
- Use clean protective wrapping and a suitable weather-resistant outer package.
- Avoid packing methods likely to transfer odour, moisture, ink, or adhesive.
Framed, Fragile and High-Value Items
- Use reinforced packaging, cushioning, corner protection, and tracking.
- Insurance and signature confirmation are strongly recommended where appropriate.
- Shipping charges must be disclosed before the buyer commits to the purchase.
- Sellers must not use shipping charges to hide part of the item price or marketplace fee.
- If combined shipping is offered, the terms should be clear.
- Unexpected carrier surcharges should be discussed before shipment where reasonably possible.
Tracking may be required based on the item, price, destination, seller status, payment provider, or current marketplace rules.
- The tracking number must correspond to the actual package and approved destination.
- False, recycled, or unrelated tracking information is prohibited.
- Signature confirmation may be required for selected high-value transactions.
Displayed delivery times are estimates. Weather, labour disruptions, remote locations, carrier backlogs, customs, holidays, incorrect addresses, and other events may cause delays.
A carrier delay does not automatically make the seller responsible if the seller shipped properly and on time.
- Review the delivery address and tracking history.
- Check the property, household members, building office, community mailbox, and nearby safe locations.
- Contact the carrier and open a trace or investigation where available.
- Notify the other transaction party and MSL promptly.
- Provide receipts, tracking, messages, and any carrier findings.
Responsibility for loss will be determined according to applicable law, the Shipping Policy, payment-provider rules, seller-protection requirements, and the evidence available.
- Photograph the exterior package before opening if damage is visible.
- Photograph the shipping label, internal packaging, and damaged item.
- Keep all packaging until the claim or dispute is resolved.
- Report the issue promptly and do not repair, alter, wear, use, or dispose of the item before review.
MSL, the seller, carrier, insurer, or payment provider may request additional evidence.
Subject to the listing, applicable law, and current marketplace rules, a return may be considered where:
- The wrong item was delivered.
- The item materially differs from the listing.
- An important defect or alteration was not disclosed.
- The item arrived materially damaged.
- The item is reasonably suspected to be counterfeit or unlawfully represented.
- A return is otherwise required by applicable consumer law.
A seller is not automatically required to accept a change-of-mind return unless the listing, seller policy, marketplace policy, or applicable law requires it.
If change-of-mind returns are accepted, the buyer may be responsible for return shipping and the item must be returned in the same condition, subject to applicable law.
Subject to applicable law, returns may be restricted for:
- Items altered, worn, washed, damaged, or used after delivery.
- Sealed items opened by the buyer where the listing clearly disclosed the restriction.
- Custom or personalized products.
- Items returned with missing tags, certificates, packaging, accessories, or components.
- Items outside the stated return window.
- Open the request within the published return or dispute period.
- State the reason clearly and provide photographs or other evidence.
- Do not return the item until instructions or approval are provided where required.
- Use the approved return address and tracked shipping if instructed.
- Package the item securely and return all included components.
Responsibility for return shipping depends on the reason for the return, seller policy, marketplace policy, and applicable law.
- Seller-paid return shipping may apply when the item is materially not as described, incorrect, counterfeit, or damaged because of inadequate packaging.
- Buyer-paid return shipping may apply to permitted change-of-mind returns.
An approved refund is generally issued after the returned item is delivered and reasonably inspected, unless an earlier refund is required by law or marketplace procedure.
Refunds are normally returned through the original payment method or approved payment process. Processing time may depend on the payment provider or financial institution.
A partial refund may be considered where both parties agree or where marketplace rules permit an adjustment for a disclosed and documented issue.
Members should not use partial refunds to pressure another party, avoid a valid return, or conceal a serious authenticity concern.
- Confirm the returned item matches the item sold.
- Check condition, serial numbers, grading numbers, certificates, tags, and included components.
- Document any material difference with photographs.
- Report suspected substitution, buyer damage, missing parts, or return abuse promptly.
- Returning a different item from the one received.
- Removing or replacing tags, labels, certificates, or components.
- Damaging an item and falsely claiming it arrived that way.
- Using or wearing an item before returning it as unused.
- Filing false delivery, damage, authenticity, or chargeback claims.
MSL may restrict or terminate accounts and refer suspected fraud to payment providers, carriers, insurers, or law enforcement.
Chargebacks and payment disputes are subject to the payment provider's rules. Members must cooperate with evidence requests.
Where permitted, MSL may hold funds, recover amounts, restrict payouts, or charge applicable fees arising from an invalid or abusive chargeback.
MSL may review listing details, photographs, messages, tracking, payment records, carrier findings, return evidence, authentication information, and member history.
MSL may facilitate a resolution, require a return, authorize or require a refund, release or hold funds, or restrict an account under the applicable policies. Nothing in this process removes non-waivable legal rights.
Where international or remote delivery is permitted, customs, duties, import restrictions, brokerage, extended delivery time, and destination-country rules may apply.
The buyer is generally responsible for disclosed import charges unless the listing states otherwise. Sellers must not misstate package contents or value.
MSL may update this policy to reflect changes in law, carriers, payment providers, insurance, fraud risks, marketplace features, or member feedback.
Revised terms will be posted with an updated version or date, and material changes may also be communicated by email or account notice.
Protect the Item. Protect the Transaction.
Clear listings, careful packaging, valid tracking, prompt communication, and fair return procedures help protect buyers, sellers, and the collecting community.
